It's always nice to unearth little musical gems that have gone unnoticed. So a tip of the cap is due to the team at the excellent MOOVMNT blog, who've gone digging and come up with a little Common joint that I've certainly never laid ears on.
'So Cool' is an upbeat, cheery little number produced by Sa Ra Creative Partners (pictured above) which featured as a UK-only bonus track on Com's Be LP. Check it below:
I found this as a bonus track on a Common LP re-issue that I bought back in Aus, although it wasn't Be as I only had that on CD. Could have sworn it was Like Water for Chocolate?! Was very surprised they put it on there. I reckon this was Common + Sa Ra's answer to Andre 3000's Hey Ya as it was made around the same time and has a similar vibe to it, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I can see what you're saying about 'Hey Ya' now that you mention it, Hayden. Having listenedto Be and LWFC so many times it's kind of weird to throw another track into the mix, but this is a nice little bonus all the same.
