There's been a lot of talk about Frank Ocean over the last few weeks, the majority of it I've not really paid attention to.
I'll keep this quick: I couldn't give a fuck what Frank's sexual orientation is, but I say good on him for making his announcement.
It might lead to some petty grief, particularly in a notoriously conservative country like the USA, but you'll hopefully open up a few minds too. There. That's my two cents.
What I'm really concerned about is how his new album, Channel Orange, sounds. And - after it got an early release which you can listen to Frank discuss with Zane Lowe here - it sounds good. Oh so good.
Channel Orange has been on repeat for a couple of days now, and it's definitely a great example of where it's best to let the music do the talking.
Great guest appearances from Andre 3000 and Frank's OFWGKTHA comrade Earl Sweatshirt add to the occasion, but there's really no doubting who's show this is.
If you got down with Frank's last release, Nostalgia, Ultra, or have even if you have the smallest R&B bone in your body, you need to listen to this.
You can stream Channel Orange here, or just buy the whole damn thing on iTunes.
