And to mark the occasion, I've saved a ripper for last.
A few months back, Queens, New York MC and Action Bronson crony Meyhem Lauren headed to the SXSW festival Austin, Texas.
But he wasn't there just for the party life. Whenever Mayhem wasn't on stage with Action or by himself, he was doing what MCs do - rhyming.
Meyhem used his Texas trip to team up with a bunch of his peers (including Sean Price, Smoke DZA, Roc Marciano and Bronson, amongst others) and get down over a bunch of beats from Tommy Mas and Harry Fraud.
The result is now clear for all to see through Respect The Fly Shit, a tape of rough and raw tunes recorded over two days and released last week that will appeal to the Bronson addicts out there.
Like his buddy Action, Mayhem is a fan of epicurean rhymes. Check the song titles: 'BBQ Brisket', 'Juevos Rancheros', 'Peruvian Deserts', 'Pan Seared Tilapia'.
And just like Action, Meyhem can throw it down, too. But this isn't a coat tail-riding exercise: Meyhem is a force in his own right, as a couple of listens to Respect The Fly Shit will show.
