Mix Tape/Gig: Knxwledge – klosetwoyew

I've got no idea how Knxwledge has any time to tour.

The Philadelphian beat machine seems to churn out a new EP every week by the looks of his Bandcamp page.

But thanks to a couple of forward-thinking crews down here in the antipodes (word to Jusayin and Mazdef Productions), Knxwledge will indeed be taking some time out to throw down live in Auckland and Wellington this weekend.

So what gets thrown down in a Knxwledge live show, then?

Well, according to the PR blurb doing the rounds, the revered producer/remixer "performs live as an undefinable and unexplainable solo unit, warping samples, productions and influences into an interconnected cloud of vibe."

"Hey, hang on, but what does a cloud of vibe look like?", I hear you ask.

Well, there's only one way to find out, really... get yourself down to Rakinos in Auckland on Saturday, 21 July or Good Luck in Wellington on Sunday, 22 July to check out Knx churning some heavy beats and pieces out of his laptop and sample. Simple.

Any fans of J Dilla, Madlib or Flying Lotus, or broadcasting dons like Benji B or Mary Anne Hobbs or any of their ilk shouldn't miss out on this. Seriously.

What, still not sold? Shame on you. But I have a trump card.

Knxwledge laced Fresh Selects with an exclusive mix before he got on the plane "to prepare the land down under for the type of sounds that they can expect to hear from the young bol."

The mix - which goes by the name klosetoyew[TOUR.MiXX] - is a bit of an overview of Knxwledge's healthy catalogue of releases this year, with a few unreleased gems thrown in for good measure.

You can stream or download klosetoyew[TOUR.MiXX] by Knxwledge below, and if you're in Auckland or Wellington this weekend make sure you don't miss out on the liveness.
