Mix Tape: Pusha T - Wrath Of Caine

With the Clipse now a thing of the past (with Malice finding god and changing his name to No Malice - see what he did there?), we have to rely on the other Thornton brother for our fix of coke rap.

Pusha T's new mix tape, Wrath Of Caine, proves that he's definitely  up to the challenge of carrying on as a solo artist.

Speaking to HipHopDX, he had this to say: "Wrath of Caine is basically just me catering to my core. It's all about just street Hip Hop, street music."

And that pretty much hits the nail on the head. This mix tape is street music, plain and simple.

Kanye West, Harry Fraud, Jake One, The Neptunes and Young Chop lend beats to give Wrath it's gritty edge, while Ricky Ross lends his weight (ahem) on the vocal front.

But most importantly, Push holds court and proves himself to be a viable solo artist, clearing the stage for his LP proper which is dropping in the next few months.

Give me the choice and I'd rather see the Clipse back together again, as most old fans would.

But if this is what we have to live with in lieu of a reunion - and let's face it, Jesus and cocaine are never going to be comfortable companions - I'm not too mad.
